Headlight protection

Previous posts mentioned clear film protective covers for headlights available from a couple of sources. Has anyone tried them, any recomendations? Seems like a good idea, the headlight units are about $500.

Maybe I am being dense, but I do not understand the posts regarding the headlights. They are made of Lexan which is the stuff they use to make bulletproof glass. I

Xpel makes headlight covers. Lexan, like any other plastic, will scratch and degrade optically over time. The XPel product acts as a sacrificial coating.
