Default HELP - Shift Boot Falls Down

OK, I installed one of Rick's titanium countersunk shift knobs. Now I am putting the stock OEM shift knob back on and the shift boot sits too low.

Does the lock nut support the boot? How do I get the boot to stay up now?

lol I knew i wasn't the only one bothered by this. My friend is more annoyed that the shifter is offset than the boot not sitting flush. =P
