HELP! Trunk bar installation?

I don't know what these things are called, but I'm trying to install these bars in the trunk because I just got a new wing and supposedly you have to replace the bars with stronger ones since the trunk is now heavier.

I was stupid though and didn't take before pictures of what the setup is supposed to look like, so now the old bars are off and I don't know how the new ones are supposed to go on :banghead:

Basically, I have 2 questions:

Is this part supposed to go "under" (as shown) the hinge, or "over" it?

Is the open end of the bar supposed to be at the bottom (as shown) or the top?

Is the other bar (the one in the front) the same way?

Please help, I can't drive my car until I get these bars in

Thanks :sadwave:

you don't really need the new trunk springs. i put on a wing and it came with the stiffer trunk springs and i never put them on. it's been 2 years and i haven't run in to problems. the only thing is the trunk wont fly open when you press the button.

you also need a trunk spring remover tool if you do decide to put them in. it seems like you're having a hard time. if i were you i wouldn't worry about it. the car will still function perfectly fine. you can just get around to it when you have time.

Well the new ones are identical to the old ones as far as I can tell (maybe stronger? but size and shape are the same), so it's not like I can get the old ones back in now either

I do have the tool, though.

Has anyone else done this before? Or can someone do me a favor and go look into their trunk and tell me how it's supposed to be?

Thanks

Thanks for the instructions, that's pretty much exactly what I needed.

The springs are in now :)

f23power, I appreciate the help, but I just got the springs in, so you don't have to take pictures anymore, but thanks for the offer
