These numbers are new car sales for the S2000 in the US:
1999: 3400
2000: 6797
2001: 9682
2002: 9684
2003: 7888
2004: 7320
2005: 7780

2006 thru july:4288 (2005 at july: 4989)
Look at the 20% drop between 02 and 03 even though it's the exact SAME model. Could it have anything to do with the inception of the 350Z? If that's true, the Z has eaten away the S's market since then because sales have been flat ever since 03.

In 2002 Honda adds a glass rear window and they only sell an additional two cars! It's all about the glass back

You can't look at it that way...what's important it the sales vs. what they would have been w/o the '02 upgrades (prob. a sig. loss in sales vs. flat).

I can look at it that way. 01 sales were up over 00 and what changes were made to the car between those years? I am just really surprised that the exterior change did not attract more people to this beautiful car. Of course my thoughts are pure speculation and may be completely inaccurate but I am shocked nevertheless.

I still to this day can not believe that the S is nearly seven years old. They still look like new cars!

Appears that the S sales numbers are beginning to stabilize. I don't know whether this is good or otherwise. What do you guys think?

I am not sure if I could have gone through with that trade... Two completely different cars however so of course there will be tradeoffs.

I think NSX sales were hovering around 5 a year worldwide when Honda finally stopped production, and a successor was well rumored. I don't think the S is going anywhere before 2010.
