How fast is 1RandyC's S2000?
I've personally run it to a 14.1 in the quarter. Of course I had tons of wheel spin, doing my usual 6500 RPM launch to only time I tried. I think Randy has decided that 2000-2500 RPM is more acceptible.
I think Randy ran a 14.01 or something close.
The ATS gear set truly changes the character of the car (at least at the strip).

The ATS gear set improves acceleration in 1st and 2nd gears, I believe.
Don't know have much faster it is, but Randy's car sure SOUNDS better
because he has the Amuse R1 exhaust. It growls when he starts it up!

My son & I tested our stook last Oct. w/ about 6,000 miles on the odmtr. It was the last day for the year @ Gateway Natl Dragstrip - Madison, Il(across the river from STL, MO) My son did 14.74 - first time we ever ran the quarter. I did 15.81 - had a terrible launch time. My stook is totally unmodified. I will probably start the mods after I get some time under my belt - just joined SCCA - signed up for 3days driving school @ Mid Ohio Racing School 4/23, 24, 25; about 2 days before our run of the Dragon & 1st big Meet in Asheville, NC.
I was up @ Route 66 Dragstrip last fall for the Battle of Imports & Larry from BodyWerks in a yellow stook w/ NOS pull about 13.2 for the quarter.

I have been thinking about that ATS gear set which reduces the final gearing/drive from 4.1 to 4.5. I will be interested to know the actual improvement before putting it in mine.
Although the engine produces the same torque/HP, this effective gearing should increase the torque/HP on the wheel for each gear. I scaned this a while back for comparison between current 3rd gear and modified 3rd gear with new final drive Speed/Rpm/HP/Torque curve.

Oh, my when did this thread start?
I can't say that I've done most stuff on my S2000 but I did quite a bit for experimentation.
For performance stuff I don't have much done but if you are curious as to what I did, here it is with recent stuff on top:
Spoon Racing Spark Plugs
Spoon Throttle Assembly
Fuel Pressure Regulator
*Back Yard Special Straight Pipe(taken out, being sold)
Cusco Front and Rear Strut Tower Bar
Mugen Intake
*Mugen ECU(taken out, sold)
Mugen Thermostat with new radiator cap
ATS Final Gears (most happy with)
Toda Flywheel
Mugen Clutch cover or plate.
Spoon X-Bar, Comptech STB(sold)
*Hks Racing Header wrapped(taken out and sold)
*AMUSE R1-titan Exaust(regrettfully taken out and sold)
And to be done in the near future..
Jets gear upgrade in differential portion(with very high anticipation)
Spoon wheels or BBS RG-R wheels
Mugen Header or Feels Header
Comptech SuperCharger(not sure but...)
If you look at all the things you would think my S2000 should fly right?
Well my power gain may not be a lot but my car's true strength is in low to mid-end portion.
Gregg had chance to run my car on the way to drag strip and one of the run on the strip
but that was couple of monthes ago and with few more addition since then and experimenting with FPR at the moment, if he get to drive my car again, he will like the recent improvement even more.
Although some modification that I did is questionably very expensive for the benefit reaped, surprisingly those things still cost me less than what I sunk in the useless and regretful body kits that I did.
I may not be expert in cars but with my experience with various S2000 modification and had chance to observe and actually been the part of the installation work with my mechanics, I can sort of give you people(who want to do some modification) some ideas and advice.
I am usually very busy to devote my time to this board to share some informations and ideas about S2000 with you guys and gals. And for that I am sorry but soon I will list some of the stuff that you people can try and not try.
DC,MD,VA people are always welcome to see me and test drive my car to see how my car behaves different than theirs.
My last run at the 1/4mile run with time of 14.01 may not look good but I was still 1 sec ahead of 2 stock S2000 and I hit rev-limitor twice during the run. I only rev to 2K to achieve that time with hitting rev-limitor twice and still had massive wheel spin at the start. But it is definite that I do not need to rev past even 3K to get my car moving respectably fast from standing start.
Not to brag or anything but I did solve S2000's lack of low-end punch.
Gotta go, I will write more later.

1RandyC,
Why did you choose to sell your Mugen ECU and BYS straight pipe? I can't wait to receive my BYS and finally install my ECU... Just curious (if you own the pieces, why not use them?). I am hoping my many additional mods will give me over 300 rwhp with the supercharger... fingers crossed

Mingster, to get close to 4.5 final drive ratio, the tires will have to be 225/40/16 rear and 205/45/16 front. Those sizes are real and available but the car will look funny unless you lower it.
I 'd like to know how much labor and $ is involved in putting in this ATS gear set?
