thing is the piston speeds on this car arn't any more than with a normal car. sure it feels weird to hit 9000 RPM but the stroke is so short that I don't think its too much more wear and tear on the engine in general.
Of course the valvetrain is another thing, but Honda does a good job engineering their cars and they have lots of experience with bike motors that make our cars look like diesels.
think of how often you hit vtec in a normal honda.. like 6 times a day.
