I Think I Found my S2000, what's a fair price?
Hello:
I think I found my s2000. It's a 2000 with super low miles (under 34k). From the pics and the conversation I had with the owner, it's in really good/great shape. It's local here in NY and I will test drive on Friday.
They are asking a little under $13k. What do you think is a fair price to offer? I was going to start with $10k cash. KBB has the value around 11.3k.
Thx,
PJ

10k sounds good especially with that low miles. but just make sure the car actually looks like a 34k mile car and not an abused beat up 134k mile looking car.
i think most people usually pay under kbb...ask them what's the lowest they'll go...tell them you can give them 10k cash right now (if it is indeed good to go) if they say no leave them your number and if they call back cool, if not oh well. just don't get deserpate for it.

these cars can sometimes exceed their value if they are in good condition. Like if you are looking for an older one, kbb will list it low because it is old. I would toss 11k at him if it is truly in 'great' condition.

in great condition (like showroom perfect) i'd say pay 10-12. 10 would be low, he'd have to be a bit desperate to take that or it'd have to be in bad condition. just my take.
be sure to check on the condition of the softtop + the rear plastic.

Hey,
Thanks for the responses
Yeah, I noticed many of them are priced above kbb. A dealer near me had a year 2000 with 29k miles listed for $15,995!! That included the electrial tape wrapped a couple times on the turn signal switch...thought it was an upgrade

Found my new sebreing silver in damn near mint condition. 88k miles, bought it for 10.5, but it was teh cheapest one i found anywhere, and many may disagree, but i firmly beleive its eaiser to rebuild a motor than to fix body work haha. (maybe not as cheap though lol)
yeah they are way above kbb. I looked at a 00 with 33k miles for 15k, wasnt worth it 2 me lol.
good look hope it turns out good.
