With OEM seating the S2000 is for people much wider than myself.

At 6'2" and 20 lbs too heavy I bought it as a space "upgrade" to the NB miata which was brutal. Leg room in the S is respectable but height is not great so vision suffers....I'm probably the max size you'd want to be in this car.

So relative to the Miata it's OK, but it's still cramped and I find myself too big for typical Mid-Size cars and below anyway.

Ideal body type? My father in law, 5'8" and 150 lbs on a good day who wears an Elise like a glove.

Do some research on the previous owner(s)... if the previous folks were bigger, then chances are you'll fit if you're bigger. I tested probably 4 or 5 before I purchased, and the one I fit the best in was broken in like a baseball glove by the previous owner of 13 years. He had a pretty big backside, but didn't tear up the seats and wore a big old boulder-shaped depression in there. lol

Not ideal if you're a chub like me.

Only if you are very oddly shaped, like Humpty Dumpty.

I'm lighter, better power to weight ratio

Depends on his car setup. If it's setup for STR, his car could be significantly lighter than yours.
