Default I'm such a jackass.

I hope someone can chuckle at my stupidity, cause I'm f-ing furious at myself right now. Here's how not to handle yuor warranty- I got my '01 about a year ago, and the guy had bought the hondacare warranty, too. I also knew that since the regular warranty expired in July 04, I was pretty well covered. I saw that there was just a card to return to transfer the warranty after purchasing, so I let it go until I actually needed repair work. So I planned to get the clutch TSB done and was looking into transferring the warranties.. Oops! For the HondaCare, you have to do it within 15 days of purchase. I didn't know it was separate from the regular warranty when it came to transferring it. Yeah, I hated myself at this point. But I took some comfort in the fact from what I've heard, no one can get HondaCare to do much anyway. So I shook it off and dropped my car off for the clutch TSB this morning. Oops.. the guy actually took possession of the honda in April '01, not July as I somehow had it in my head. Hate myself a little worse now.. I've been waiting as long as I could to get the TSB done, so it would be as "fresh" as possible when my warranty ran out, and here i've got and ficked myself in the arse. I also had them do the 30k service and they said everything seemed fine, so as least it's not any worse.

I'm just vented at myself and wishing I could turn back the clock. Don't you hate whn you pull some jack-ass maneuver?

I think I need to buy a beater and just completely stop driving the S, so I don't have to incurr some repairs that rape my wallet.

Grrr... someone please shoot me in the face.

Funny, I guess the US warranty is different than in Canada. I asked the dealer when I transfered my lease and was told numerous times the warranty goes with the car so no need for transfering.

He's talking about HondaCare which is only transferrable from the original owner to the next, with the tranfer fee of $50. Also, one can cancel HondaCare and get the prorated difference back; but I'm not sure if the original owner or the next owner gets the refund in this case.

BTW, clutch TSB isn't a warranty service even though most people think it is. Some dealers might do it as a goodwill. You might wanna ask around.
