Importing S2000 from Canada

I'm not sure you do a title transfer in Ontario but I've only done interstate transfers. Temp tags for sure and the signed-over title is all I've ever done until getting the car home. I'm not even sure you can get a Ontario title since you don't live there and getting one without paying local taxes is different from where I've done this.
By the way it's Niagara don't confuse the spelling with Viagra.
If you come that way consider I79 south from Erie, then US19 and I77. This will bring you thru some "hills" in West-by-god Virginia and roads the S2000 seems built for. Roads need attention, even the interstates. My definition of a fun drive is when my wife is constantly telling me to "Slow down." Bring your GPS. Also bring your radar detector. Can't use it in Ontario and you won't get into Virginia so you're good.

Like Chuck said, bill of sale from owner on title, title signed over to you, proof that car was originally a US registered vehicle and you should be good to go. Any taxes would be paid to your state when you do a title transfer. All this will be at the discretion of the US Border Patrol. You shouldn't have to deal with Canadian Border at all. Let us know what happens and if you have any problems. GL

In my State (CT) there is a separate Bill of Sale form that is supposed to be signed by seller, in addition to signing over title. Most States don't have this, but check if yours does or if there is anything else they need signed or especially notorized from previous owner.
It would not be pleasant to find this out after you are home and trying to register...

Just took a road trip from Arkansas to Toronto and back. We entered through Niagara after a few days in NYC. Stayed in Canada a couple of days, and crossed through in Michigan. You could cut through Missouri-Arkansas-Texas via Hiway 30.
If if you aren’t in a hurry and the car is road worthy, it’s a trip you won’t forget!
(Border patrol was TOUGH on us though. Make sure you have everything checked and read as much as you can about what NOT to take.)

I do know that when you import from the US to Canada there is a wait period before the car is released, something like 3 days. Not sure if this is the same on the opposite type importation? Might be worth looking into so you don't get blindsided. GL
