Default an INTAKE ON AP2

Do you have an intake on your AP2?

a good friend loan my his s2000 for a week and I have fallen in love. His is a stock ap1 with a comptech icebox.

After doing some research, i decided i wanted to buy an ap2 because of all of the cosmetic updates. I went to a dealer and drove one. I found myself disapointed with it. At first I thought it was then new motor. My friends car screams when the vtec comes on and the car becomes very exciting.

I just drove a stock ap1 (no intake) and got the same vibe as the stock ap2. NOW, i'm wondering....would AP2 with an intake be what i'm looking for? I've read the that ap1 feel more exciting to drive??

If anyone lives in Orange County and has an AP2 w/intake, I would love it if you could take me for a quick spin

Just take the cover off the stock airbox if you want the sound. It's a quick fix and shows you what the car sounds like with an intake on. An intake is just a little bit louder.

I've got a K&N FIPK on mine and I can tell you the WOT sounds in VTEC are much much much more aggressive than with the factory airbox. From the factory it just sounded like it was driving quick, but with the intake it sounds real mean. If you can (not sure on a test drive) remove the stock airbox lid and you will get a similiar sound (don't drive like this long term though as it has been shown to reduce HP).

AP1 has nicer rev cuz the rev limits @ 9k but AP1's driveability is better because it has better torque from low to high rpm.

both sound the same too me with stock intake box lid off (ap1 and ap2). get 06 ap2 then get hondata and intake. youll get best of both worlds. limit at 8500 rpm which is the closest any ap2 will get for less then $700 and you get the torque from low to high rpm.
