Invidia/Tanabe exhaust clips or reviews?
My mom is looking for a deep sounding exhaust. She wants dual mufflers, something noticeably loud, deep, but not obnoxious. She has an 02' S2k. She also doesnt want to spend more than about $799 on a dual muffler exhaust system.
I have had an invidia exhaust on my STi, and loved it. Do these sound good and deep on the S2k? I also had a Tanabe on my previous Celica GTS, that sounded deep for sure. What do you all think? Can I find clips for these exhausts? |
I've had the invidia for about a month now. It sounds great, especially when you get into the high rpm range, but I have a feeling your mom wouldn't like it. It's almost painfully loud, even with the silencers in. It drones quite a bit when you are driving on the highway.

I have a Tanabe SMR on right now. I like the sound. Waiting for a new exhaust from T1R and also ordering a Mugen dual. My Tanabe is for sale if you are interested.

Your mom wants an invidia / you want to get here one
Don't get me wrong, I have an invidia and I love it for all that it is, but I just can't picture a mom driving with that exhaust, its so loud and does drone a lot which would make her go nuts after a while IMO, I think the invidia is for the younger crew (I like being a loud obnxious teenager :D) However, check out steves group buy on the invidia and you can see my soundclip on how it sounds if you are in fact considering it |
I have the Tanabe SMH. it is not even comparable to the Invidia in sound. The sound is not much louder than stock, yet you can tell it is aftermarket. It has a deep throaty tone and does not drone. It is a great exhaust if you are looking for something that is not to loud.
