I've found my limit
 

We have done multiple 500 mile day drives, some three 500 to 600 mile days in a row. Well two weeks ago we drove from Chandler,AZ to Sacramento,CA, 796 miles only stopping for gas and food and I was stiff and sore as hell for four days after we got home. Then on the 5th day we got back in our S and drove 460 miles from Sac to Perris,CA and I was just a little stiff when we got there. Spent three days in the mountains around Perris and spent a day over on the coast, then drove home and I felt just fine. I think 800 miles in one day is just a bit to far for my aging body(63) so I'll try to keep it under 600 miles a day. We have another 1200 mile trip coming up in a week but the most I'll have to drive in one day is 400 miles.

Anyone else get sore after a long drive?

I picked up my CR in Washington DC and spent 3 days of driving getting it back to San Antonio. DC to Cherokee NC, Cherokee to Tunica MS, and Tunica to San Antonio, TX. Longest stretch was Tunica to home (about 730 miles). Def got to feeling it in my back that day. Cant say I was sore after, but I wouldnt call it super pleasurable either lol. The first two days though the scenery and newness of the car seemed to make me numb to any negative feelings of the car lol.

I have noticed my left thigh, the backside of it, gets pretty sore after 4 or 5 hours. Does not happen in other cars. I keep changing around the position to see if I can mitigate it.

when I first got my S2000 2 hours was my limit. I then got used to it and the time expanded up to about 5 hours as my maximum. . I've done up to 12 hours on the Dragon trip but that was beyond my limit, I just had no choice but to trek on. I think the issue is the way the seats are so low to the floor and how the legs are stretched out flat. My other compact car is an Acura Integra and the seating is much better in that regard. I don't get any pains in the Integra, as the seats sit a bit higher and you can bend your legs and move the seat back further. Not enough room to adjust the seat in the S2000.

When I first bought the car I was sore and stiff after an hour.
This spring (after 2 seasons of ownership) I drove from Florida up to Minnesota which was 2 days of 10 hours and 1 day of about 6 hours. I was very comfortable and didnt get sore at all... finding that perfect seating position, frequent stops and keeping hydrated is key. Also... your rear needs to get accustomed to it. It's like riding a motorcycle for any length of time. At first it's brutal then you get used to it...

I would assume all you guys being sore from short trips early on is from being tense and nervous about driving the car. Once you learn it will not break....drive on.

The longest drive I have done in my S was from Orlando, FL to LA, California. I broke it down 10 hours of driving each day, a total of 2,625 miles. Sure I was kinda sore, but you get sore from any kind of long drive no matter what. What really killed me was the drone from my exhaust, that sucked, at the time I had a Greddy SE V1 dual exhaust.

My wife and I love long drives, we have done a 21 day, 13 state, 7800+ mile vacation in the S. We have put around 130k miles on our S in the 9 years we have owned it, and we had to take about 20 months off so my wife could fight her cancer(she kicked its ASS). Out in the western states we have so many great roads to drive it takes years to see just a fraction of them but we're checking off the good drives off our list before we get to old to do it and have fun at the same time. 800 miles is just to much for me now in the S.

I would drive my SUV to Florida yearly, 2 days at 10 hours per day and never had any soreness at all, but driving my s2000 2-5 hours was my limit. It got better if I set the seat rake back further, but that meant moving the seat up towards the steering wheel to allow the back to angle more.
