Well, too bad Rick Hesel's pictures are no longer available. It is very simple to do a search on "immobolizer" to find all the threads relating to the key. For now, I've done the work for you:

how does jdm key work with immobilizer?

Just follow Rick's links to read his threads (without the pictures). You may want to PM Rick to see if the pictures are available elsewhere. In the future, you can do the search yourself.

Just a note. You might want to have the dealer cut the JDM key with your car's "Code" and test it, before you go to all the trouble of moving the chip from one key to the other. Once the key is cut and it does not work, you are SOL. At $50+ a try , this is become very expensive.

... They don't. You need to cut them open and put in the immobilizer out of the oem key in them.

I have an extra JDM key that I am willing to part with. I bought two last year when we had the group buy. If anyone is interested send me a PM.
