Just got an blk/blk '02 :-)))..
as of this morning, I was torn between the boxster/slk 320/ s2k. i had driven both the boxster and mb, but never drove the s2k....till this morning. well, suffice it to say, i never made my appt at the porsche dealer this afternoon, and ended up getting a blk/blk '02 s2k. i was very impressed with the fit/finish/feel of the car. the shifter is an absolute dream and smooth as silk. on the whole, the car just fits like a glove. i just put it away in the garage with all of 32 miles on the odometer.
ive been silently lurking on the forum for several weeks now, and look fwd to learning more about the car, as well as meeting some s2k owners here in the dc area. only thing that put a damper on the drive home was the rain, so i didnt get to enjoy the top down feeling as of yet. switching from a 96 corvette (lt4) to the s2k is a big adjustment, but im sure once i break the car in, ill be hitting 9k on the tach every chance i get i guess ill have to look into the mid-atlantic club. btw, any good advice from breaking the car in properly? peace...

Congratulations pjb. You won't regret a single moment getting the greatest little sports car in the world. Just patiently wait until your 600 miles is up to enter the VTEC world. You'll love it. Each day is as if it's the first. Nice color too.

congratulation!!
and welcome to join the board!!
I do the engine break in by follow what says in the owner's manual, but I do alot less freeway drive when I am break in the engine, and I wait it to 700 almost 800 miles for my first Vtec, I am just try to play safe, I am sure you don't have to do that.
enjoy your new car.

pjb: Welcome, and congrats on your purchase!!! I look forward to seeing you around on the streets and at the meets. I work in Alexandria off of Eisenhower, so if you see a Spa Yellow running around that area, give me a wave

I wanted a Blk/Blk, but my dealer couldn't find one here so I settled for a SYP/BLK. About break in . . . Do not change the oil (break in oil) till 3,750 miles, keep an eye on that oil level, and start riding it hard after 6oo miles - stay away from constant speeds till you hit 4,000 miles. Great choice . . . congrats!!
