Default Keyed!

My wife and I saw a movie last pm (parked normally in an end spot). Came home and went to sleep. When I woke up this am, noticed a deep key mark the whole length of the passenger door. Of course, I'm pretty pissed off. I love my car and it means alot to me, but it is only a car. My life is pretty good, and I can happily say this is the worst thing that has happened to me in a long time.

My question is what to do now? What will need to be done to fix the damage? If any of you can give me your input on this it would be greatly appreciated. My car is a MY02 Suzuka blue - garage kept. I have a feeling the Suzuka will be hard to match. There really is no fade on the rest of the car as I can tell. Thanks in advance.

I'm sorry for your misfortune. You've helped me decide to take my "beater" '93 Prelude on an across Wyoming jaunt June 5th to 7th.

Take it to a good body shop and they'll fix it. It will probably cost a bit but they'll fix it so you can't tell.

A friend of mine works for Valley Motor Honda and has the only '03 Accord V6 6 Speed in town. The day he got his permanent plates some jerks climbed up on his car, broke in through the roof, and stole his stereo. There was body damage on the trunk, roof, spoiler and there was interior damage.

He just got it back last week (after 3 weeks away) and it looks brand new. They matched the Satin Silver Metallic perfectly. I don't think Suzuka Blue is any harder to match than that.

I think the Spa Yellow Pearl is about as hard as anything to match and usually they do it perfectly if the body shop is any good.

Everywhere has crime but i think relatively it's not that bad here. Wouldn't call it rough at all. Vacation away.

This is really sad. Why do people do this stuff?

Even when I drove a '90 accord beater....I could appreciate the people who had nice rides. I just don't get it.

I guess the rappers put it best "player hating"..... they can't stand to see someone with a better life.

Sorry about your loss. Mine was keyed a month or so ago. This falls under the comprehensive, and many insurrance carriers don't raise rates for comprehensive claims. But you'll still need to pay the deductible and file a police report for comprehensive claims I think.

My keyed scratch was light enough that only the clear coat was damaged, and Turtle Scratch Remover took it out after a few tries. If it doesn't look too deep, you can try that first to see how much of it you can get out.

Looks like comprehensive is going to cover it. No police report needed. Thanks for all your help/sympathy.
