keyless start
 

On the new altima well i supose its not new any more. But the latest one you have the key fob and when you get in the car you push the start button you dont have to put the key in and turn it. Is their any way to do this with the s2000? Has some one done it before?

i hate having to put the key in lol.

The 'Engine Start" button isn't enough? I doubt anyone has or will ever do this...don't be lazy :LOL:

You will probably get as many responses as I did! I think this would be very cool. The motorcycle conversion that I posted in mine looked promising, but I'm not a tech guru.

I never understood why they made you have a key and an engine-start button???? I like the button, but I don't want the key...

Yea, but it takes longer to turn the key then press the button. They should have just had a key or a button. Having both seems gimmicky.

According to the brochures of the time - it was nodd to the racing heritage. "Gentlemen start your engines..." Race cars have a push button starter. Hey I always attributed Honda with starting off the whole push button staters in civilian cars.
Also, the technology neccessary to have keyless start was probably not tested enough for Honda to mass produce it back in 1999.

It doesn't matter to me, really. I prefer having the key and the "engine start" button at the same time.

Having keyless start in my wife's Audi Q7 is a really nice feature. She did not think she would like it when we got the car(it was included in the package with some other features we wanted) but when I get loaners without it, she complains now. Says she always wants this feature in future cars. It is cool. Walk up to the locked car with the key on your person and touch the handle(doors unlock). Get in, step on the brake, press the start button and drive away. The key never leaves your pocket/purse/briefcase....

I had a quick look over it and seems simple enough... The only concern is maybe the antenna... it seems it needs to be close to the fob.. you could have it so the aerial was in a hole and you just put the fob in there... unless there is a way with which you could increase the range... maybe with the use of the car's body shell?

but tbh there is a 3 sec delay b4 starter motor, so probs faster to jst put key in ignition :s
