We know the buyer was an Indy car racer but what of this car made it worth so much?

Car has limited production
Car is first year of production
Car is performance vehicle
Car is convertible
Car is all original stock
Car has low miles
No accidents
Color is red

He wants it to sit next to his S600. If I had that kind of cash I'd also buy another lesser example to beat.

It is a beautiful car. Graham needs to have some IndyCar podium finishes this year. And Courtney needs to continue to do well in NHRA this year (with no more horrific crashes). I love em both! Also Bobby:

mine has 62,000 miles more than this one...arguably more enjoyed miles.

I personally invite Graham Rahal to add some miles to his at RTD 2019.

As the ad says "Drive it like you just stole it". I did and have no regrets.

A 2001 with under 1,000 miles just went for 45K at Barret Jackson yesterday so this one suddenly doesn't seem so out of line.

Because their numbers are dwindling and a car this raw will never be seen again from Honda, the original, single owner, unmodified, no accidents, matching numbers, meticulously maintained, low (and reasonable mileage) cars with only OEM options? Those cars WILL cross the auction block in the next 7 to 10 years north of $100,000. You can count on it!
