The little things that piss me off

Well today I took my car in to get a quote on how much it would cost to repair my center armrest. The tabs at the back broke and it won't stay down. So anyway as one service rep was calling to see if it would be covered by warranty and I was reading a sign in the other direction when one of the workers began to unscrew my antenna. The guy almost had it completly off when I finally turn and see him. He casually screws it back on and walks quickly into the showroom. At first I was just confused by what just happened then I was pissed that the guy was screwing with my car. Well to make a long story short I filled out a complaint and also made one with Honda Corporate. The manager (Dan Winkle) was giving me crap about me being paranoid that someone was trying to rip off my antenna. So after I was done with him I called honda and made the complaint. While I was on the phone I forgot to get the name of the guy who was messing with my antenna. At first the manager gives me the name luis and when I ask for a last name he leaves into and office for a few minutes and comes back with the name Felix Delonge(or something like that) So the honda rep i'm talking to is listening and she adds this to the report. When I persistently asked him who luis was he kept pointing at where he wrote Felix whatever and saying thats his name in a jack ass tone. Well this pissed me off more but I guess it was a great addition to the complaint. I doubt anything will happen from the complaint but it's the least I can do for these guys. And even if he wasn't trying to steal the antenna he shouldn't have been unscrewing it.

Oh man. Unscrew it, and beat him on the head with it. What was he thinking? Is there any possibility he was trying to actually screw it since maybe he saw that it was a little bit unscrewed? Could he have just been playing with it?

When my S was in for service last Summer, I returned to find my antenna missing. The dealer's explanation that someone must have walked on the lot after hours and removed it and that it was happening to S2Ks and CRVs as they use the same antenna. The dealer replaced it no questions asked. When I took my S back for service again, I just took the antenna off myself before I took it to the dealer. You may want to try that next time.

How do you take it off without tools?

The antenna is just a female thread. Maybe yours is on really tight.

Try some loctite (blue) on the threads of the antenna, that'll make it harder to simply unscrew, and the extra effort needed may thwart potential thieves!

Trust me it was screwed on tight. Besides if he was tightening wouldn't he have realized half way through that he was turning it in the other direction?
