these generation cars, looking at auction prices, sites like bring a trailer etc... We will see. Snap them up now
100% agree with this. I sold my '01 Integra Type R, mint 2 owner car with 50k on it about 8 years ago for $15k. Thought I did great on it at the time but regret it now with the way prices are on them. I've been looking for an s2000 (also in the PNW) very seriously for a few months now and I've seen only prices steadily rise and inventory steadily decline. Might be the time of year with the "summer tax" on these cars. Buying this time of year is tough but it seems like a double edged sword because more people are looking to sell this time of year because it's nice out and they know their car will fetch a premium.

It will be fascinating to watch what current owners do, once they feel like they’ve got something that may be collectible sitting in their garage. With this being such a great driver’s car, it will be shame if they just get it away in storage and only taken out once a blue moon.

Might be worth considering 04-05? Pretty minimal difference between them aside from the ease of tuning on the 06+

I guess prices in the mid-west are just lower all around compared to other areas. I paid $14,000 for my first S2K (2001 AP1) with 40k miles in mint condition, and just bought my second (2000 AP1, red interior, zero accidents, all matching vins) for $11,500 with 70k miles. I still feel like that was a fair deal after seeing what they go for around the country. If you shop long enough you can find low mileage cars for decent money. I'm not afraid to make a pretty significant drive for the RIGHT one.

I'll be in the market next summer, and this is making me want to try and buy one over the winter.

The prices are on a rise in general (not just summer / winter) as these rare iconic 90's cars get more rare....

A few years back I sold my 2010 Porsche 911-S, I could’ve put 10-15K miles on it the past 2 years and still sold it for more then I did 2 years ago, kicking myself on this one, I kept my Shelby instead.

Oh well is what it is. S2000 is a great car, but I wouldn’t pay some of the prices they are going for, good news is I don’t have too because I already have one.

Here is a thought, whatever you pay for a car now will probably increase in value by next year....so you don't loose out, but you are not buying the car for spec....so any car is a good value looking ahead.
