Every time I drive, there is some point (or numerous points) where I VTEC!

I VTEC'd on the way to work this morning but only for a split second. It all really depends on what kind of driving I'm doing and what my mood is. Usually, when I am on the way to work I don't VTEC just cause traffic sucks. However, if it's nice outside and I have the top down I am hitting VTEC on many shifts.

I will say that I probably VTEC less than most S2000 owners.

Thought we had to VTEC to keep the upper end of the FC20 well oiled, besides the car just begs for it.

City driving = 1st gear to 36mph shift to 5th

Highway driving = 1st gear to 36mph shift to 2nd run up to 67mph shift to 5th or 6th.

Third and fourth gear are for racing.

20,000 miles of hard driving and she still purrrrrs like a Lion, the car loves it.

VTEC my daily driver every ride but I wait for 3 bars on the coolant temp and maybe even a little longer when it gets really cold.

Wanna make sure the oil (Mobil 1 full synthetic 10w/30) is up to temp but since we got no oil temp gauge it's a guess.

Anyone with a oil temp gage who can advise how it relates to the coolant temp ?

I go past 6k to 9k on every single possible occasion. If I'm just going to the local shops I probably hit VTECH on every shift change. Whats the point having the capability if you don't use it!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?

Like the guy said earlier, its there for a reason and if Honda didn't want you to use the VTECH they wouldn't have designed it or built it. Use it all the time, its like keeping a Lion in a cage otherwise. For those of you who are scared to use use it, go and buy an MX5, as thats all your good for.

Is that bad for the car? I always thought it's bad to skip gears
