The S2000's truck is HUGE compared to our '90 Miata. We've gone on weeklong trips in it before, and the only issue is my wife can't recline her seat enough to sleep comfortably.

Our anniversary is Sunday. 12 years married, 24 years together (to the day actually as we got married on the 12th anniversary of our first date). Our yellow S2k is in the garage now for the winter. It has already snowed and gotten cold here, but this weekend we could have taken the S out! It has been near 70 this week and is supposed to be 50's and 60's this weekend. But right now it is semi taken apart since a friend and I are swapping some parts between cars. |
Thanks. Actual date is the 10th, happens to be the Marine Corp Birthday. (I am not a Marine)
36 years for us. We only dated four years, not the dozen like you! Congratulations to you! |
Ha, this thread is perfect. I literally just came back from picking up my new J's Racing front bumper.
The S has seriously huge luggage capacity, if you can remove the passenger seat, if necessary the spare tire AND are fluent in Tetris. You just need to get creative (and hope for dry weather). On several occasions, I hauled my whole DJ equipment, including two subwoofers, two midrange speakers, lightbar with stand, smoke machine, complete booth etc., my skis (180 cm) and a christmas tree - See pictures below. Of course, for all of these, you can't include a passenger. So if you're travelling with two people, things obviously get a bit harder, but certainly not hopeless. :tipwink: https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...2cba022733.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...7071811012.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...2c30d309b6.jpg |
It woulda been hilarious if you strapped the xmas tree to that huge rear wing...

See, even on the outside you can add more luggage space. This car is seriously versatile and anyone who says otherwise just lacks creativity :argh:

I have one of those inflatable pontoon fishing boats with a seat and electric motor. I am able to deflate the pontoons and get the entire thing (with motor and battery) in the car with the trunk shut, but no pax of course. It takes a bit of effort and frankly it is just much easier to load the stupid thing in my 2002 Tacoma bed and just spend more time fishing. Plus I can take my lab. But......it can be done!
