First I equip cameras on each tire to accurately document camber wear; next I start my flashpro logs every 1.5 minutes to get all accurate data. I log my mpg. I do airfilter cfm tests after every driving cycle to find out how much dirt is gained in the filter per drive. I use a spatula to spoon out some oil, and I take pictures of it after every driving cycle, so I can accurately log the oil wear...

I just enjoy the car.

btw, 38mpg!? long road trip with some massive hypermiling?
I just imported my logs to fuelly... pretty cool to be able to import from the phone at the gas station. I think I'm still gonna stick to my excel spreadsheet too.

As far as the 38mpg... I'm pretty sure that was a fluke because it was only a gallon or two that I used to top off. I might not have filled the tank the whole way that time too. But yeah, the last trip I got a solid 35mpg by just taking it easy. The S2000 seems to sip gas at 65-70mph.

With Excel. The paper gets filed in a folder.

I started keeping track by writing it in a notebook. But honestly I stopped. I tinker with the car so much that I end up replacing parts and fluids faster than they should. That and last year I only drove the car like 5k miles. As long as I can mentally remember what year I changed fluids or spark plugs, ect it really isn't much of an issue. And im about to change the oil for the 3rd time within 2k miles. and it is mobile one synthetic.

If you do feel the need to keep track I believe an excel file would work very well though.

For you Android users -

I've been using aCar - http://www.zonewalker.com/acar

Keeps fuel records as well as other maintenance/service, roadtrip, and expenses. Even has reminders so you can stay on top of what needs to be done.

Shows me I'm averaging about 21.8mph since January of this year. Yeah, the autoXs and HPDE days don't help the MPG's out at all.

I'm a little sloppy with it, but I log stuff into a Google Docs spreadsheet. I log gas, but I'll keep track of oil changes and other maintenance, as well as how long it's been since I've checked the oil/tire pressure.
