The search function isn't working properly right now, so does anyone have any liks for discussions re: the maintenance req'd light on our instrument cluster? Mine came on around 7500 miles and the car runs perfectly.
Thanks.

Your car is fine. Honda just wants to make sure you are taking care of your car.... oil changes and the like.
The link above tells you how to reset it.

Hmmmm 7,500 miles? That's interesting.
Mine came on at 6,000 miles about 4 days ago.
I just reset it this morning and thought nothing about it, until now.
Did mine come on early?
Well I'll see it if it comes back on in the next day or so, which would indicate something more. Or is this just a stupid light that goes off every so many miles and has no logic or analysis behind it other than miles driven?

Maintenance Required Light is strictly miles driven. Every 7500 miles the light will turn on and stay on. The blinking does occur before hand... but I am not sure if it starts at 6,000 or 7,000.
RWD_RCKT is right. The maintenence indicator comes on PRIOR to 7500 mi to warn you you should service your car soon. First it blinks at start up only, then it will eventually stay on until you reset it. It is only there as a handy reminder to service your car. Most S2000 owners are a little more meticulous than that and are on top of the maintenence, but Honda owners in general may need the reminder, as there car may not be their BABY like it is ours.

Mines blinking at start up and then goes out(6,225 miles)..my question is do you have to wait for it to say on solid before it can be reset?..or can I reset it during it's blinking stage?
