I have said this before but the editors of MS Carpoint have always been completely off the wall when it comes to cars. Today they had top 10 sports cars listed. The S2000 was 9th but a few cars other cars were listed:
Ford Mustang Toyota Celica Mitsubishi Eclipse Chevrolet Corvette Chevrolet Camaro Acura Integra Toyota MR2 Spyder Audi TT Honda S2000 Pontiac Firebird Am I the only one who thinks cars like the Celica, Intergra, and Eclipse are better classified as "sporty" rather then sports cars. I don |
Maybe Bill Gates compiled this list.

VA S2K's re-classification of the ten cars:
old American muscle cars Ford Mustang Chevrolet Camaro Pontiac Firebird modern "sporty" cars Toyota Celica Toyota MR2 Spyder Acura Integra Mitsubishi Eclipse real sports cars Honda S2000 :D Chevrolet Corvette Audi TT 225 |
I would call many of the cars on the list "Sport Coupes"

Did you guy read the review from one of the guys who tested the car and said that a Miata was a comparable car for 10K less? He said he'd rather save the money and get a Miata its almost the same and has the same styling. Hell no, I've driven an Mx-5 and theres a world of difference. The miata handles very well, but hp and torque are at a premium. Its just a little roadster with extremely good handling but the S is a pure sports car. Accelerating, HP, torque are all in another class compare to the miata. I think the 10k spent on an S is well worth the money. And the S looks awesome compared to the Miata.

Actually I think VA S2K has it nailed. It is classified a sports car most often when it is on a purpose built platform
