So, how do the KW's compare to a set of Koni Yellows and ground control coilovers?
Koni yellows are not for serious competition; the KWs are. The KWs have seperate adjustments for rebound and compression, the Konis (nor the Mugens) don't.
If you're going to spend Mugen $$$, get yourself a set of Moton Club Sports and get your money's worth. Otherwise, get the KWs and get out to the track!
As for the Koni yellows... save your $$$. (IMHO, it's not enough of an "upgrade" over stock to justify spending $800)

ditto what everyone else says. There are just certain areas where it makes NO sense to buy the super pricey mugen stuff. This is certainly one of them....

Well, I have Koni/Ground controls on my Civic and it'll outhandle any S2000 I've come across yet. Of course it only weighs 2100 lbs and makes almost as much power as a stock S2K so, perhaps it's not a fair comparison (and it's caged).
The seperate rebound/compression thing sounds interesting. I looked at a set of KW's at VIR and the top adjuster's identical in design to the Koni so, I was thinking it was a Koni insert.
How are the 2 adjustments made? You have the top adjust for something so, I assume there's another adjuster below? Is it a single or tube or double-tube insert?
What kind of spring rates can the KW's handle? I know the stock Civic/Integra Koni yellows are good up to 550 lbs/in
One thing I've read about much of the Japanese stuff is, it's got tons of "clicks" in the adjuster but, on the shock dyno there's not a huge change in damping from one extreme to the other.
I'll read that forum post you reference too.
