Default Mugen Start/Stop Switch

Mugen Start/Stop Switch

Whoa, would this CTR Mugen Start button work for our AP1/AP2s?

Makes you wonder why they never offered it for the S, at least it does me. That's fairly cool

Which can get so damn confusing when you go from a car that has push button start/stop to the s. My daily is an IS 250 and I go from REAL push button start to the s and I wind up pushing the button to shut it off!

Could probably be rigged to work, probably need some cutting, would have to figure out something for a wire harness. The regular start switch for those cars is under $18. For that price I'd think its a simple momentary switch like the S has. Who's brave enough to try?

Sizes of the buttons are different, so cutting would be required.

but our button is really a press and hold thing too.

Gonna go on a rant:

Having it key it in, then turn it two clicks, and then go over to the left side to press and HOLD to start is easily the dumbest aspect of the car.

Most characteristics of the car was designed around a function. Then wtf is this stupid press and HOLD start button?

In RHD S2Ks the key and start button are right next to each other so it's perfectly fine.

I have 3 cars, all of which use different start/stop methods. One (Nissan Stagea) is keyless but you turn a knob on the right to start/stop, another (Nissan Leaf) is a start/stop button on the left, and then there's the S2K. Many's the time in the Nissans I've flailed around the column area looking for buttons/knobs that aren't there. I'm not ashamed to say the first time I went to turn off the S2k I hit the button. Won't make that mistake twice...

Theoretically this is so if you spin out on track or stall out you can throw the car back into first with your right hand while starting it with your left.
This is also why they say Porsches had the turn key on the left side of the steering wheel rather than the right.
