This is the kind of thread I like to see -- admiration for all types of performance.
I envy those among you who've had the chance to drive V-8 muscle cars. I spent half an hour test driving a C-5 Vette back in June, and the growling effortless power of that engine was truly impressive. I want to get more familiar with Corvettes, but at the same time I'm so hooked on the S2000 that I can't see myself parting with it.
Not a bad dilemma to have!

Hi fellas. I recently traded in an LS1 Z28 for my S2000, and I couldn't be happier. The Z was a blast, but I never enjoyed driving it nearly as much as I do the S2000. Going fast in a straight line gets boring after a while. The S is also much nicer to take on dates!

I was not sure if I should resurrect this thread but 11 1/2 years after this post I am back in another S2000. My first S2000 was a daily driver for 4-5 years followed by a convertible C-6 corvette. I drove it for a few years then sold it after a 2 seater was no longer practical. I am now able to own a sportscar as a weekend driver. I find the most enjoyable driving is a curvy road that requires multiply shifts and variable speed. In my opinion the most desirable car for that type of driving is an S2000. No car shifts with more precision than the S2000. The cornering is superb. Looking back at my original post not much has changed. I am back in an S2000 and appreciate the car as much as ever.

Its kind of nice to read about "The Rest of Story". I was like you in research but never had the chance to drive one. The first S I drove was mine, already purchased for over 2 weeks. My sentiments reflect yours but I am still on my first S.

Thanks.

The first S2000 was an AP1. Current S2000 is a 2004 AP2. I did not have a preference . I was able to find the AP2 with 16,000 miles. One adult owner who was a retired Judge. Car nearly perfect. I just could not pass on buying the car. Paid a little more then I wanted to but car drives flawless. Actually purchased in July. I was going to post sooner but could not acquire password due to change in email. Finely able to come up with password after a couple emails with moderator. Maybe revhigh not totally accurate with AP2 but glad to be back on forums with original user name. I will see if I can come up with a picture. GPW with tan interior
