Default My Evo makes me appreciate my S2K even more.

So...before I got an S2000 I really thought they were overrated. I did still want one because of the looks, 9K redline, and other reasons. But after a while I figured I'd had Civic Tegs, and whatever that could beat an S2K, so what was the big deal?

Wrong... after getting it, it's such a completely different thing in so many ways. I have never had this much fun owning a car. Even after adding an Evo X to my garage the S2000 remains to be my favorite. It's quite the opposite; I came into that expecting something life altering, and it's meh so far.

POS decided to even break on the way to an Evo tuner setting me back a good 750+tow before I can even get a single part installed. Literally my Evo has been mostly driven to move it out of the way of my S2000 when I want to drive that. Ans also so many more people appreciate the S2000...ladies that is.

Wish I boosted this over buying an Evo.

My Evo being an Evo:

The one that DOESNT disappoint

I totally agree! We have an Evo X, an STi and a S2000 and out of all of them the S is by far the most enjoyable car to drive IMO.

Every Evo owner I've met are very big-headed, think their cars are the best in the world and have a "S2000s/roadsters are gay" attitude. f@#k Evo owners.

Buddy used to have one. It's an impressive car, sorry to hear your luck.

The EVO X is, unfortunately, one of the most breakage prone cars ever made. Two of my friends had one. One of them now has a *Mercedes* as a more reliable alternative. Let that sink in!

I totally disagree with this. The early model years of the Evo X's did have their issues (like 08-09) but the later model Evo X's are actually pretty reliable. Its when people start modding them and tuning them for high HP when things start to break down, as is with any car really.

IIRC, my friend had a stock '11 GSR. The ACD pump failed...and the car turned into a one wheel drive car...trying to climb a hill at a track while turning. He traded it in to car max. It was stock except for a catback and springs.

He bought a S2000 to replace it.

The friend with the Mercedes bought his MR brand new in 2013. He blew it up in 1200 miles because of something about a tune and breaking spark plugs? So that was his bad. Mitsubishi then put the car back together for him as if a 2 year old would have. He caused more problems by modding it more. Then he had trans issues because apparently, you can't leave it in "regular mode" and expect the clutches to last more than 20k miles?

I'm not claiming to be an EVO expert. But Mitsubishi has never been a "solid" type of company. And the EVO 10 seems to have reliability and durability concerns, as I've heard from a majority of owners and ex-owners alike.

They are nice enough to drive, though. And fairly quick.

I had an evo 9 and 2 s2k and I thought the evo was a lot more fun to drive. I enjoyed the boost a lot more and also the crazy amount of grip. Don't shoot me please.

It's because S2000s are engineered from the ground up to be phenomenally engaging and uncompromisingly raw driver's cars. The vast majority of other sports cars are engineered to be fast and/or technologically advanced (and whatever else... magazine stuff), not necessarily true driver's cars. I love s2000s and plan to keep mine for good.
