Yes, will make it a TON easier! I also installed a lip on my 06, which took a couple hours to verify the holes were correct. I drilled all holes on the 08 & 09 bumpers in under 15 minutes.

Fitment will be better with drilling the front bumper, but it is not neccesary for the lip to stay on. I Go-Pro'd my lip at 100mph, no deflection of the lip was evident.
