Question Mystery piece, with no idea where it goes

Hello Everyone,

I've been scratching my head over this and was wondering if any you smart people would know? I pulled the cover on the passenger side which and this little metal piece fell off. Looking at the honda parts diagram, I don't see it anywhere.

This is the mystery piece

Parts diagram doesn't show it

Look on the back side of the piece you pulled off and see if it might have been attached there—the small black “circle” on the piece you’re holding might be where it was “plastic welded” to the cover.

Looks like what holds the passenger AIR VENT into the dash.(under #18)

Did you take that out by chance?

Here's the driver's side right vent, pretty similar indeed.

You guys were right, that is where it was from. Interestingly I never took that part off, ever. Looks like the glue was loose and it had fallen off previously and was just needed a place to fall down to.
Man do you guys know your stuff!

The piece has been reunited

They call me the S2000 whisperer.

After 20 years and having taken an entire S2000 apart you remember a few things.

Very impressive memory!

That’s a pretty unusual little clip!
