Default Need opinions on how much MY04 is worth - Rebuilt title

Bought MY04 in 2008 with 24k miles on it. No issues but some scratches & a dent in the door sill. The car now has 150k(I've gotten my money's worth out of it to say the least). I need to sell because life situations have changed, & I've become more of a bike person. Car has a brand new soft top, recent valve adjustment & valve cover gasket replaced, new plugs, new coil packs, new vtec solenoid & new fuel filter. Comes with AP2v1 rims with Hankook RS-4's(70%) & AP1 rims with snow tires(60%). This stuff matters very little considering the car is not perfect by any stretch, mainly because it is a rebuilt title. I'm curious how much you think I should post it for/expect to get for it?

Former wreck is perhaps an unkind, but honest term vs. rebuilt title, but that's how most folks will see it. 150K miles and snow tires don't help either. I'd personally not advertise the tires! Not in Alabama anyway. My estimate of value would probably be considered insulting. Sorry. Advertise it at $15K elsewhere, not here, if you want a chance of getting that, and be prepared to take what you can get.

Some photos would help us to make a more informed response. Sadly I think that Chuck is being generous. Searching on craigslist in various markets and on the major car selling sites for similar cars provides more data points. Based solely on your description without photos I would imagine you would list your car somewhere in the $10K - $12K range. No idea what you might actually get for it.

Realistically $6k. A clean one with that mileage would go for $10k - $11k.

I'll post some pics once I take them. Snow tires shouldn't matter consider the RS-4's...I bet they'd work pretty well in Alabama . I'm in PA & snow tires on an S2k with 3 or so inches on the ground, is as fun as it gets. I think anything close to clean title s2k's is not in any way realistic. This is going to be a car someone buys as a project to probably boost if I would guess.

Snow tires mean not only was the car daily driven but driven in snow, salt, brine, and slush. No problem if you want to do it but don't expect anyone to want to buy your car after all the corrosives and freeze and thaw. Too many winter-garaged cars out there to buy.

The cars are made to be driven. Just depends on what you expect to get for it after all that winter driving. Value only counts if you want to sell it.

Sadly your going to get quotes all over the place from people due to people’s inability to be objective. What you’ll be able to get for your car is going to depend on how patient you are and how it looks. Your going to get a lot of low ball offers, similar to the guy who came in here and said 6k... but if it looks decent you can probably get closer to 10k if your patient and wait for the right buyer.

With the description you provided, I would say $8k - $10k depending on condition. Aside from being a rebuilt title, knowing that this car is driven during the Winter really drops the value for me. Like what Chuck S said, "too many winter-garaged cars out there to buy."

Why was it rebuilt? Pictures beforehand might help if damage was minimal. Otherwise buyers are taking a great risk, and that means lower offers.

Ha ha, I’m realistic. Hopefully OP can prove me wrong. Only a fool would pay more than $6k for a ragged out, rebuilt title, highish mileage S2000. That’s just my objective opinion
