New Deal, new car, new date
My tale of woe has a happy ending.
When we last left Road Rage, he was despondent, having learned that his Black 2004 S2000 was, in reality, Blue! That's right, the ordering guy lost his mind and ordered a Suzuka rather than the Berlina. So no car for RR in October. And then, depression set in.
Seeing an opporunity, the Rage snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. The next allocation was for a Silverstone/Red and Black, production date in November for December delivery.
Hastily arranged meeting with Sales Manager. "I will take the second allocation car", I said. "but ther deal has changed, and I want consideration for my disappointment". "Like what?", says the Sales manager. "Like $700 off the MSRP", says I. "And I don't have to buy any of the pack items the salesman pushed on me".
Closeup of SM with furrowed brow, pouring over the sales sheets, writing numbers frantically. He returns and says "OK".
"I want to see the order sheet to make sure that I get Silverstone/Red and Black" I raged. "Take a look see for yourself - see, SY for Silverstone, RB for Red and Black".
We shook hands, and the deal was done.
Better late than never.
So there it is, boys and girls, I got a decent deal for less than MSRP, and no

Damn! I was really looking forward to seeing some pics of that Berlina... Hopefully some other early Berlina purchasor will come through for me. Glad to hear you're happy again. That color combo should look nice on the 04 as well.

Glad you found a car. (Good choice on color! )
See, you CAN get a better deal than MSRP. While people will always thing you could have done better, as long as YOU are happy with the deal that's all that matters!
Congrats

I am happy with the deal because I am happy with the dealer. The salesman was the most knowledgeable I have ever dealt with, and I have bought parts from this dealer for many years, and have a corporate account there. They tend to "comp" me on little things.
