Hmm....Still months away so it's hard to commit in concrete.
But I would love to attend and I am pretty darn sure I can make it.

And as for you Canadians, yeah....we'll let you in the fun this time. But if anything goes wrong, anything at all, you know who we'll blame it on, right?

If "anything" goes wrong? Like even a freakishly high concentration of windshield bug splatter? I just want to make it very clear, I will NOT be held responsible for anyone getting a performance award from any LEO. I have to draw the line there.

As for recommended inns, Mr. D., the NGS guide actually provides coordinates for a few. Problem is, if you're not fairly certain about being able to make the event, the less appealing chain motels are a better bet as they allow cancellation up to 6:00 p.m. that day. Most inns want a downpayment and ding you a penalty for cancellation less than two weeks head of time. We'll see as things get closer, though I hear what you're saying about the popularity of that weekend.

As for other Canucks, there's a guy in Montreal and a few in and around TO I see on the list frequently. Hope to hear from them.

Roadsurfer,

The rural beauty of the Lime Rock area comes at a price: lodging accommodations in the immediate area are very limited. There are NO chain hotels or motels nearby. There are a smattering of small inns with limited capacity. That's why I urge those who need a place to stay overnight and want to be close to the Park to book early.

It's a 45-minute to 1 hour drive from the Park to the nearest chain hotels or motels. It's a beautiful drive but not around the corner. If you look at a map, the Park is in the Northwest corner of the state and the closest towns with chain hotels are Danbury and Waterbury -- just so you know.

Guess it'll depend on what hour on Monday morning we're going to aim for as our get-together time. If it's no earlier than, say, 9:00 a.m., then an hour's drive first thing in the morning -- in that part of the country -- won't be a problem for me. (Or will the traffic congestion even on those backroads be especially problematic on that Monday?)

What do you propose, S2000?

I'll probably be up there anyway crewing for a Grand Am GT team. I won't have my S2000 with me but I'd like to meet you guys if time permits. Motels are hard to come by even for the race teams so book early!
