new s2000 owner.
hi guys, I'm new to the s2000 scene and just need a bit of advice. I recently bought a 2006 s2000 and although it has the 16" AP1 alloys I assumed it was an AP2 due to the registration plate being an 06 and also reading that the AP1 production stoppped in 2004.
however since taking delivery of the car, I've noticed the engine bay vin badge has AP1 and the engine code is F20C rather than F22C. Now is it common to have an AP1 on such a late reg plate? The HPI check matches the engine code, the vin number matches the service document which is fully stamped since registration and the car is not showing any signs of being written off on the HPI check so it all seems legitimate.. does anyone else have an AP1 on an 06 plate even though AP2 production started in 2004? Any help or advice would be appreciated. |
only north american ap2s received the 2.2 liter engine and i see you are from england. as far as the chassis code still saying ap1 that i have no knowledge of.

I've read in many places that the UK are all AP1s.

All UK S2000s have chassis code AP1, and engine code F20C.
UK never got the F22C, so obviously all are F20C. UK DID get the AP2 chassis updates, but to avoid testing the new chassis, they still labeled it AP1. ;) |
