Hi...I'm a new owner of an '06 S2K in Laguna Blue, and have become somewhat addicted to this forum. Question, though. Many of you refer to AP1 and AP2 when referring to your S's. I think this has something to do with model year, but would appreciate your patience in explaining this to the new guy.

 

ap1 = MY 00-03

ap2 = MY 04-06

 

AP1 or 2 has to do with the engine/chassis code on the VIN numbers.

 

MY 00-01-02-03=AP-1
MY 04-05-06=AP-2.

 

major differences:

AP1: 2.0L engine, 9k redline
AP2: 2.2L engine, 8k redline

AP2 also got a slight exterior restyling which is mainly visible when comparing the two front bumpers.

 

And,the next question is....
Wich one is the fastest ???

black MY00 AP1s are fastest. The paint absorbs more heat, which in turn heats the surrounding air via conduction. Hot air flows faster, therefore BB cars suffer less air resistance. word
