And again, for posterity, the 06+ Si knob 54102-SMT-E01 doesn't just "sit higher" - the collar it comes with will barely grab a few threads on the shift lever, and even then the knob will sit over 1" higher than stock. Alternatives: machine the lip off the bottom with a grinder, skip the nut or collar and have a crooked shift pattern, or chuck it at something you don't like. Or get the S2000 Ultimate Edition knob, which is what people think they're getting when they buy the 06+ Si knob.
Good note on the SMT-E01, thanks.

The 08U92-S6M-200B appears identical to the '00-'01 aluminum knob, except possibly for the finish (brushed vs spun, as noted, though I'm just going by eBay photos). There's also a -200A which is the 5-speed version. I found them just by Googling, but as you noted, it's often hard to tell in which models/years/markets each knob was "officially" offered by Honda -- what's in the table is my best understanding. The thread pattern appears to be the same for all Honda knobs of the past couple decades.

Well, that looks nice, I wonder if my wife would like that on her S2000; maybe not with the black top.

The first 30 seconds of the installation video is a bit of a waste; I already know how to open a box.

Granted - but, conversely, my wife has very small hands (also making both piano and guitar a challenge) and, if I put a huge shift knob on her car (or mine for that matter), she would not like it much.

Hmmm, if I put a big one on my car, perhaps she'll stop asking to borrow it.
