OEM Hardtop Defroster not noticeably warm
Hi all,
When I run the defroster on my soft top, it's noticeably warm to the touch. The hardtop defroster, it's hard to tell by touching the glass whether or not it's on. I ran a multimeter on the connector and I do get 12v, but hard for me to know if the glass is heating up to any degree. I don't get fogging, but in Northern California we rarely run into moisture. Can anyone with an OEM hardtop comment? Thanks!

There should be a sensor (more like a button) on your driver side catcher that determines whether the hardtop is on the car. Check to see if your hardtop has the rubber piece that pushes this button down. If not, then just tape something over it that leaves it depressed. Your defroster should work and your roof switch for the soft top should be disabled once the car knows the hardtop is on.
