OEM Lip VS. Urethane knockoff?
I was just curious to see how many people are running the knockoff lips that are sold on ebay, and what your thoughts on them were. I saw a thread before where someone got one, and it fit great, but wanted to see how many other people have a first person experience. I was planning on a group buy of sorts which would take the price to about a quarter of what an oem one would cost painted.
I know that they come black primered, and thats not a problem, just looking from an aesthetic point of view.
Thanks

But our bumpers are made of urethane. Have you heard of http://www.extremedimensions.com? They use something called duraflex, which is part fiberglass and part urethane. It's uber flexible.

I dealt with knockoffs with other cars, and my experience has been that you will probably save money with the better fitting quality pieces unless you are doing the paint/bodywork yourself.

OEM lip, which is made of ABS plastic, comes painted at a price of 350 or so. It's a little more than a knock off lip + a paint job, but the fitment and quality are well worth the dollar.
Just my 2 cents

I bought the OEM because I didn't want to deal with getting it painted. I feel like I got a good deal because I didn't have any risk or getting it color matched. Plus, I saved some time by just installing it myself.

I have the knockoff lips off of ebay and they fit perfectly. It's just a little flimsy compared to the oem lips so you may need some double sided tape to hold them up. After it's painted, you cant even tell that it's a knock off. I'd recommend it if you're on a budget.

Buy OEM or spend your $$ trying to look OEM later.
If your gonna skimp on the product...your gonna skimp on installation and your gonna skimp on the paint.......end result is it's going to look like you skimped.
