oem oil filler cap is junk (pic)
I have a 00' purchased in Nov. 99. I just turned 30k on the odo.
This morning I was changing the oil. When I was done and putting the oil filler cap back on it broke into 3 pieces now I am not the strongest guy in the world nor was I applying lots of pressure. The cap just broke into 3 pieces. It seemed very brittle after I gingerly removed the threaded part from the block thankfully no pieces fell in. Here is a pic
So now I want to take my car out for a test run to check the levels and for leaks so I try the filler cap from my 00' Accord V6 and it fits perfectly and is of much higher quality than ours. I may just purchase one of those to replace my oem cap unless anyone has another suggestion.

WOAH WOAH WOAH!
before you take her out for a drive, take a flashlight and look inside for any other pieces. put the pieces together like a puzzle to make sure they're all there.
(EDIT: I just read your post more closely and you said no pieces fell in, but hey, I'd check again. put the pieces together and make sure nothing fell in.)
suggestion: I think I've seen some really nice looking billet aluminum aftermarket oil caps, but I'm not sure where. (bulletproof or ricks or some other site sponsor...)
