OEM Radio CD Skips all the time, is this common?
My OEM radio skips all the time. The dealer says that it must have this demonstrated before they will replace it. This means going down there, taking if for a drive with a rep. looking for bad roads, and the right CD combination, hoping that it will skip. Anyone else have this problem.
I don't want to get a million replys from people telling me to replace the stock head unit, I'm not ready to do the upgrade yet.

Mine happened pretty regularly. To be honest, it skips about as much as any stock CD without any shock protection. I'm sure the fact that we don't have the most forgiving of suspensions helps too
The frequency of skips increased when I was trying to find my air-pressure sweet spot (34.5psi). Anything higher than 35 and it skipped like crazy. Dry traction was affected at the higher pressure too, so it all worked out
If you ride with the top down most of the time, try a lens cleaner or somehting.
I also guess you checked to see if all the spring spacers were removed too (do a search if not)

This is my fourth Honda and the CD player skips more in this one than any of the others by far. I'm sure it's because of the suspension being so tight but it's still annoying.... I just rev to 9 grand and I forget all about the CD..
No skipping for the one day I had it in my car!
I put in an Eclipse CD player, and I've heard people having problems with skipping on these too (various models of cars), but in the four months I had it in there, absolutely no skipping at all. Prior to installing it in the S, I had it in my '98 Accord for two years, so it's not a new radio.
