I would tell him that you should be arrested and have your car crushed because you obviously cannot handle the responsibility of driving safely. Are you seriously asking about topping out your car for a minute on public roads?

Civic is a different car. Different aerodynamic properties, different gearing, different motor. Nothing you told a trooper would get you out of that one. They might or might not take you to jail, but you'd certainly get one heck of a ticket and your insurance would probably go up substantially.

There are plenty of videos of people topping them out on YouTube though. Top down v top up would make a huge difference in the aerodynamics and therefore affect top speed. I'd suspect they wouldn't all be the exact same either. Some might be 149/133. Others might be 152/135. Others still might be 147/128. The life the car has lived and the quality of its maintenance would likely have an affect as well. Then mods would be another factor as a lot of them are modded. That should be the ballpark though.

Heck, my Ford Expedition will easily do 115 without VTEC when the factory 106mph limiter is bypassed.

not really asking about the ramifications of getting caught doing 110 mph, just what can this car do? Mine is an 06 makes it about 13 yo . Would you do that speed in a 13 yo bucket of bolts?

People have gone much faster in older cars. The age isnt what matters as much as how healthy the car is. Ive gone about 220KM/H in my old 2000 ITR, never tried to top out the S2000 but i would imagine it would go faster than that. It all comes down to power, drag and gearing.

I wouldn't exactly call a 13 yo car a bucket of bolts lol. This tellls me you must be really young. My 2006 S2000 is in great condition with 56k miles and it seems like a new car to me. As for Cops, just explain that you had to outdo your friend in his civic and he'll understand.

Tell him you thought the Highway number was the speed limit number.
