Ordered a spoon head gasket and Hondata Gasket
#2
uhm... most folks dont sell products that make no difference. you should see some nice gains, provided 2 things. #1, someone with a brain does the install, and does it REAL nice. #2 when they do the gasket, make sure they pull the manifold ALL THE WAY OFF. then fit the gasket, and look for overhang. the gasket is cut to fit neutrally well, well all heads arent all the same, and you will have to match it to the ports if you wanna see a gain. this should be easy since youll have the head all the way off the car. another smart idea, while your in there, index the plugs since the head will be off, and you can see the plugs face. any other Q's PM me. later dave

Kind of off-topic but indexing spark plugs with the head off the engine is like farting with your pants off. You can index plugs any time without seeing the plug faces.

I kind of felt bad veering off topic so here's something on topic...
When the rest of the system supports it, compression ratio is directly proportional to torque (thus hp) output. With a 11:1-compression 84mm-stroke engine, every 0.1mm decrease in gasket height increases compression ratio by roughly 0.12. You can get a rough idea how much torque/hp increase from a thinner gasket.
I don't have direct experience with intake gasket. I'd imagine the amount of heat soak to be reduced depends on your type of driving.

I'll be sure to dyno it first thing after its running.

hondata gasket will reduce heatsoak, and it works (I have one...I'd suggest you perform the Mugen cooling mods as well) but I don't think you'll get much from Spoon headgasket...waste of money.

I agree with everything you said apart from your opening statement. I think youll find a lot of stuff out there that is just hype....ahem...voltage stabilizer kits
