he should call them up and report back to close up the thread, at least to help everyone who eventually ends up here from google with a similar problem.

Red is just as hard as a plain black to take care of and harder to paint match. My 911 has mishap while in service once... still a mystery but something happened.... had to get repainted 3 times to get right. My weekend car(s) all have PPF and ceramic coating. This will help blend in the minor differences in sheen between old and new sections. Most aren't as OCD as I short of Obsessed garage although we subscribe to different methods of care - I'm all about clear bra and ceramics and he is a wax and touch up paint guy.
