Penske Honda: Anyone had any experiences buyingy a s2k from em?
#1
Last summer, I plopped down a 500 dollar deposit for a s2k at msrp plus an option or two. As the time for me to receive the s2k nears, my dealer has talked about how the "parts" dept. might throw on every option in the book! I was wondering, have any of you dealt with Penske and what were your experiences? Were they positive or negative? Who did you deal with? Thanks for the help!

Negative: When I was shopping for a car, not only were they dishonest over the phone, they didn't share customer information between salesmen/managers. As a result, I talked to 3 different managers who quoted me from MSRP to 15K over. The one who quoted me 15K over was so rude, he said if you can't afford it, don't ask for it.

I bought my S from Classic Honda which is a Penske dealer. When I had problems a year+ ago, I sent a letter to Mr. Penske (in Detroit) and low and behold things got straightened out.

My experience was very positive. Their service department is on the better departments I visited. I purchased my Civic in 93 from them. I dealt with the fleet deal though. No arguing or gauging. They screwed me on my trade-in though. $900 for a bluebook low of $1500, $2000 in rims, and $500 in the stereo.

i recall old posts on HA.net that penske in ontario was one of the places to buy our car that got very good reviews. i contacted them, but they did not have an allocation at the time. have not heard anything since those posts (early this summer).

I bought mine at Penske in Ontario and had a great experience. They quoted me MSRP from the first time I called and they never changed. They said it is there corporate policy to sell at MSRP. They have been known to add options to up the price, but I was able to get mine with no options. I highly recommend them.
