Brand new C4S is like $90K (with options) + tax.

For me I'd keep the S2000 for weekend's and I'm really looking at the STi for daily driver. I know it's not a beautiful car but it will have 90% of the performance of the Porsche.

If you were trading in the S2000 for the Porsche say $25K trade in so if you keep it you can get a car for $65K.

The M3 would fit the bill but I'd look at the LS430 because it is such a great car and almost the opposite of a S2000.

So many cars so little time

C4s, no doubt, no question, go and get it, flat out. I got the s2 until the $ is there for a C4s. bad ass car, and all you need, the turbo is overkill.

Dude get your order in on the new GT3. I mean this is THE porsche to have.

It is 3.6L 380HP (105 hp/L). The most powerful NA porsche ever offered in the US.

It is priced a bit higher than the C4S at $99K. But it is a limited edition only like 1000 per year I think. It doesn't have all the driver aids of the C4S but than neither does the S2000 and so it may be more of a drivers car.

Get on the list if it's not too late.

At this point in my life the STi is more realistic. But if I had the jack I'd get the GT3 no questions asked sight unseen.

I mean it is a limited edition porsche so it should be worth more down the road also.

Let us know what you decide.

Oh, and keep the S2000 also you aren't hurting for money and it's such a fun car for top down driving

the gt3 is a little over what im looking for, but if i had the extra cash i woulod get on that list so dam quickly. believe me i've been looking for the previous gt3 too. it is really an unbelievable car. im also looking at used 996 turbos but not sure if i want to be in that insurance bracket. right now it looks like the C4s is going to be it.

The C4S is awesome, but personally, I'd save up a bit more and go for a Turbo. If you don't mind buying used, maybe you can find one for the price of a new C4S. Good luck!

993 C4S and buy a nicer beater... say a WRX. The 996 C4S is a great car, but you will lose a lot of the S2000's nimble feel that I'm sure you've grown accustomed to like most of us here.

Can't beat the look and sound and fun of a 993.

Good luck!

With so many fantastic new cars becoming available, the 996 C4S, IMHO, is becoming more overpriced and underwhelming.

Not to mention you will experience staggering depreciation on it...

Keep the S2K, buy an early (maybe '00?) C4 or C2 996 for about half the price of a new C4S. Maybe even get a STi, RX-8, 350Z, as an extra plaything.

I also think the new small Aston Martin (named AMV8, AMV8 Vantage, or DB8 depending on who you believe) will rock Porsche's world, but you might not want to wait that long...
