I need a little advice. I picked up a screw in my right rear tire last night. I took the tire to have the hole patched this afternoon. The tire was bald on the inside with a few chunks of rubber missing exposing the steel belts. The mechanic suggested putting a used tire on until my S02s arrive Monday. He did not have the correct size tire, and put on a P205 50 Firehawk. This tire is smaller than the S02. Do you think that this will harm the car. Will driving the car at 60 mph for two hundred miles harm the car?

This would not be very good for the LSD. Although the front tire is that size and you are supposed to put the front wheel/tire on the back if you get a flat. I would not drive 200 miles like that however!

Your temporary tire is actually smaller than the stock front which is only recommended for 'emergency' use on the rear. I would avoid long fast trips until you get the replacement tires.

Actually, the manual suggests not using the space saver on the rear (I'm too lazy to actually walk down to the garage and confirm this). I think it said to put a front on the rear and the spare on the front. So running a 205/55 on the rear is OK for limited use. That would be better than a 205/50. See if the shop has 2 205/50s. Did they mount it on your wheel, or are you using one of their wheels?

I heard you should swap the front in rear and then use the spare in the front.
