Just rolled over my first 3k miles of ownership, 3 auto cross events, and I’m really starting to get the car dialed in.

clutch is going. Think it’s mainly the throughout bearing but the disc isn’t catching that well either.

fixed my vtec leak but I’m still burning oil.

think the valves need adjusting. I checked clearances when I had the cover off. Check two cylinders (1,2) and check within tolerance. But I am hearing a subtle tick, sounds like valve.

had my camber dialed in and track driving feels good. Can’t say the same for the street. I’m considering putting Koni streets on but it’s bottom of my list.

tires either Falken or Bridgestones 200tw. Haven’t decided yet. Need to sort out sponsorship. Falken pays $300 for a first place finish at a national event.

that’s it for now. Plan for next year is to get in as many AX events as possible and start getting competitive in the CS class. I want to rub it in the ND Miata clubs face!

 

Note, our engines noisy, mechanical. Valves actually get quiet when out of adjustment.
