Question about seats/car theft

Well after doing some research, it seems as though the seats get stolen a lot more than the actual car does. Believe it or not, the S2000 gets pretty low theft rates (depends on the area) but the seats still seem to be hot. My idea is a very good alarm system with proximity sensors and very dark tinted windows. Therefore if a thief wants to see the seats, they'll have to come close to the car to look inside, and if they manage to see something of interest, the proximity sensor/alarm would chirp at them. Sound good?

I dont know how it is where you live, but in most areas of So Cal if you left your car with top down for an extended period of time you would probably end up with stoling seats or maybe a vandilized interior
I live in S. Calif and I have left my car with the top down in all kinds of places from a full week at LAX in long term parking with the top down (twice) to parking in the street in front of my house for over a year now with the top down almost always. Left it with the top down in hotels from San Diego to Stockton and Yosemite (although in Yosemite the rangers warned about bears getting in). I am top down guy and always have been, first convert was a 1973 124 that I purchased new in 1974 and its top is brand new, its so rarely been up.
Unless its raining the top is down !
Now there are areas where I would not feel safe leaving the car and before I drive to L.A. I do think about the neighborhood where I will leave the car but if I feel safe leaving the car in some spot, its almost always with the top down.

my seats were stolen thurs night / early friday morning. infront of my suppsedly nice condo neighborhood. lol
Get an alarm on that pronto f you haven't done so. its not 100% garuanteed, but having it there wil mak a thief think twice.. lets see, jack an s2000 without an alarm, or one with it? thieves will alwasy go for the easiest/safer route

I plan on getting a really good alarm, along with dark tinted windows. I hope it's good enough lol. My area is full of nice people and not many young punks trying to rice up their cars with S2K parts.

They make locking nuts and bolts for car seats exactly for this reason.
If you're that worried about it, buy a set.

Any idea where I can pick some up? I heard about a member making seat locks, but I would prefer to buy from a store. Any ideas?
I think you have to prove to him that you own an S2000 before he'll sell them to you.
As far as buying them at a store...not sure. I've never seen them at a store. Only online. They're very similar to locking lug nuts.
