Default Question for S2000 gurus

I just bought this car only later to notice these two very strange problems, firstly it appears that there is a hole cut out from behind each seat??? And secondly, why is there what appears to be aluminum foil under my trunk???

Any answers to these mysteries would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I would post pix but i dont know how

is it an actual cut out or is a missing plastic cover?

as far as the aluminum foil, where exactly under your trunk? under the lid? maybe they used it thinking it would improve the bass in their trunk

If it's silver in colour, you may find beneath the silver coating is a rubbery material. This is designed to minimise vibrations & is normally employed by something who's installed some speakers & attempting to improve sound quality by minimising the surrounding area (around the speaker) from vibrating at all.

Anyone know about the holes behind the seats, they are towards the bottom, and are about as big around as the bottom a coffee mug, are there supposed to be speakers there (on an MY03)???
